We invite you to a 2-hour harbor cruise during the “Żagle” event aboard the vessel:
Libava
The reconstructed 17th-century Latvian sailing ship Libava is well known as a frequent guest at the Baltic Sail regatta. The ship’s home port is Liepāja, from which its name is derived — Libava, from Old High German, means “Liepāja.” Reconstruction began in 2007 at the Russian shipyard Varyag in Petrozavodsk and was completed in 2008. Since then, the vessel has been a regular participant in Baltic Sail events. The reconstruction was based on drawings of Dutch luxury ships known as Herren, provided by museums, primarily the St. Petersburg Maritime Museum.
The ship was built using sailing ship construction techniques from 300 years ago. As such, Libava reflects the long-standing traditions of prestige and leisure once reserved for the European aristocracy — while today remaining accessible to sailing enthusiasts from all walks of life.
Each summer, the ship sails approximately 10 kilometers from Riga to Jūrmala, a popular resort on the Gulf of Riga. While in Riga, the captain and crew welcome lovers of summer sailing adventures aboard. Libava has taken part in numerous charity events, including the children’s festival “Daugava Under Sail 2016” in Ķīpsala, which was attended by more than 250 children.

A Sailing Celebration in the Heart of Szczecin!
From August 15 to 17, we invite you to Żagle 2025 – a spectacular maritime event.
Three days of unforgettable experiences lie ahead! Wały Chrobrego and Łasztownia will be filled with tall ships, naval vessels, and smaller yachts heading toward Szczecin. From Friday through Sunday, the sailing ships will be on full display. Dozens of vessels will arrive, many of which will open their decks to visitors and also offer cruises on the Oder River.
While the tall ships are the highlight of the event, they’re not the only attraction. On both sides of the river, two music stages will host top performers and beloved shanty bands. The main stage will be located at the square near Komandorska Street, and the shanty stage will be on Łasztownia. Concerts will take place over all three days and will be completely free of charge.
Musical excitement will also be provided by the 8th Brass Band Festival for the Szczecin Mayor’s Cup. Brass bands from across Poland and abroad will showcase their talents through parades, drill shows, and concerts.
